Introducing Chirp

Since I have an 'off' season with the yarn business, (where I should be doing accounting and web stuff...boring!), I decided to start another business with a friend, Krista. We call it 'Chirp' just because it's a fun word to say. "Chirp!" You just want to say it in a high pitched voice. It's the kind of word that you say when you're getting your picture taken and you don't want your teeth to show.

I digress. Anyway, I've loved painting furniture (well anything really... walls, floors, yarn). There seems to be a love affair with painted furniture these days, so I guess I'll follow my bliss and paint.

Krista and I have been collecting furniture and vintage home goods from thrift stores, yard and estate sales, free cycle and even along the roadsides. The search is fun. Whoo hoo, a banged up table to restore!

Our business card

Armed with cans of primer and spray paint, nearly everything gets a coat of color.

Except for paper goods and other retro finds.

 Like cameras.

We have heaps and heaps of stuff needing attention and slowly we are getting things done.

We'll be in some upcoming outdoor shows in the area and of course will have a tent set up during our Countryside Artisans' Studio Tour in October.

We'll be posting things on this blog and on Facebook so if you see something that strikes your fancy, let me know.

Krista is a great seamstress so she'll be making pillows out of vintage fabric and lace.

The fine art of paint by numbers!

So, welcome to our little shop of vintage finds. Have any old furniture that you're wanting to get rid of?
